this was an amazing and insightful read!! thank you for your tireless efforts in your guys research and planning of this essay it’s so cool!! as someone who works in education and is still a student, the degradation of public school and university is what i’ve been preparing for ‼️‼️

always a pleasure!! these posts make me feel less crazy 😭 but my peers are very idle right now depending on these schools and institutions so they are just watching as everything crumbles. although i’m seeing what i can do for my niece and children in my local community :)

Holy shift what an insane post. You and your colleagues ability to research and put together information is extremely commendable. Myself, coworkers, and roommates often rely on your substack and tiktoks for information and greatly appreciate your work 🙏. This one's going to take a few re-reads and digesting but to answer your question the only solution that the mothers and parents in my sphere really have for this new war on education is homeschooling. Some are trying to get certified others are just trying to introduce new ideas to kids (mostly through picture books) and making sure everyones vaccinated. It's been hard to avoid doomscrolling and instead focus on collective action but we're taking it one step at a time! All we can really do is take it one step at a time and support each other. Thank you again for all of your hard work and stay safe!

Wow, thank you so much Zeddylux. That means the world to me hearing that your inner sphere is tapped into this work, I appreciate you putting them on, hopefully there's some relief here amidst all the doomscrolling :') and yes, exactly right about taking it day by day with building out alt spaces + care networks, it's a marathon not a sprint.

What does certification look like where you are and what does it entail? Do they plan on forming small bands of homeschooling groups or fully individualized by the household? I'm Gen-Z and nobody in my circle has kids LMAO so I'm curious to hear how those of you with/around kids are introducing these heavy concepts to the next gen. TY as always for reading, stay safe yourself! ~☆

Honestly with how expensive child care is we just take turns watching the kiddos and trying to educate them as best we can. (I too am the only one who is childless so I end up with them most of the time 😂). Picture books are truly a blessing to introduce some of these difficult topics (especially in regards to Palestine). Honestly the easiest way here in Colorado is to get a teaching license (which a few were already considering in their college education anyway) and then registering with their local school district. There's also something called and "umbrella school" in which certified teachers can form their own independent almost private school? That could come with its own set of issues though and of course our governor is a Zionist 🙄
